Y.B. Speaker,
TO SET UP ROYAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY TO STUDY WHETHER THE DREAM AND ASPIRATION OF SABAH PEOPLE HAVE BEEN FULFILL

This is to give notice under the standing order 23 (1) to raise a motion that the Assembly take a stand and request the Federal Government to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) as to study whether the dream and aspiration of the Sabah people upon formation of Malaysia in the year 1963 have been fulfil or betray in nearly 5 decade.

2.         This is an important matter to discuss and to study for the importance of the Sabah people because a lot of Sabahan especially the Bumiputra felt that their rights have been ignore as promise in 20 points which is still relevant.

3.         Under the terms of “Borneonization”, Sabah people should be given priority in the federal civil servant of Sabah state. Yet, until now, it’s not fully taking over by the Sabah people. The importance of Sabah people in holding the leadership of their own state is being ignored. Furthermore, the Sabah people had to look for jobs in other states even other countries.

4.         Hundred thousand of foreigner who owned original MyKad illegally are a threat to national security and even the rights of citizen especially the bumiputra.

5.         Big companies from the peninsula Malaysia are acquiring land in Sabah but the Sabah people themselves are landless and some are even being force out from the land they work on and live on for ages.
6.      Sabah should be an autonomy state. Sabah produce 73,000 barrel of crude oil per day but Sabah only get 5% from it’s crude oil. The oil royalty should be review so that Sabah can have an equal sharing. Income per capita in Sabah is RM9,536.00 which is below national standard. In the past, Sabah was the richest state. Now, Sabah is the poorest state in Malaysia

7.         Above explanation show that basic rights of the Sabah people have been betray and does not ensure a brighter future for the Sabah People. And so, by standing order 23 (1) (Order of Business), I request permission to ask leave to move the adjournment of the assembly for the purpose of discussing a definite matter of urgent public importance on 19th April 2010.

Thank you.

Yours truly,
