BN government incapable to upgrade Pan Borneo Trunk Road // 国阵政府无法提升泛婆大道




很多人感到沮丧和遗憾,当他们听到联邦副部长拿督杨昆贤最近所说,如果政府要提升泛婆大道将单车道改为双车道,马来西亚人将不得不支付每公里RM0.60过路费。 如果是1000公里的道路,我们要支付总额RM600,他举例从砂捞越的美里到古晋。他说,如果用RM600去乘搭飞机将会比在高品质的道路上行驶来的划算。 尤其是要拥有如马来亚半岛的高速公路有同样的水准,就要花费每公里马币三千至四千万的建筑费。 他继续解释说,国阵政府将会继续提升在沙巴和砂捞越的泛婆大道,直到2025年。


It is rather upsetting and felt very disheartened when listening to the comments made by the Federal Assistant Minister of works Datuk Yong Khoon Seng who recently commented that if the government has to upgrade the Pan Borneo Trunk Road from a single lane road to a Dual Carriageway, Malaysian will have to pay toll of RM0.60 per kilometer. If for a 1000 km road we will have to pay a total of RM600, as he sided from Miri to Kuching in Sarawak. He said it will be better to fly by air than by paying RM600 to travel on a high quality road. He also said if we want our road to be like those in Peninsular Malaysia, the cost is RM30 million to RM40 million for every kilometer. He continued to explain that the BN government will continue to upgrade the Pan Borneo Trunk Road until 2025.


The KK MP Hiew King Cheu said it is unreasonable to site such an example and this reflected the incapability of the BN government to deliver and execute their responsibility to bring better roads and infrastructures to the people who had supported them all this while. The people are getting all sorts of excuses and story to cover the thing that the BN had not deliver and cannot do. The example of using RM30 to 40 million to construct a dual carriageway is ridiculous and outrageous. Any road contractor (not BN contractors or cronies) will tell you that the quoted price is “sky high” and it is a price that no one will believe. This is proven by himself when he said in Sabah to upgrade the 1,200 km of trunk road from current the R3 standard (single lane carriageway) to R5 standard (Dual carriageway) will need RM7 billion. This works out to be RM5.833 million per kilometer. How come he said RM30 to 40 million per kilometer construction cost?

Anyhow, in Sabah there are substandard roads which are part of the Trans-Borneo or Pan-Borneo Highway. The condition of the roads are really bad especially the stretch linking from Telupid to Sandakan, Labuak Road Mile32 Check-point to Lahad Datu, Tawau to Kalabakan, Kalabakan to Sapulut. The road from Kota Kinabalu to Sipitang should long be upgraded to R5 standard dual carriage, but until today there is no sight of any planning and work being carried out. One thing for sure is that the people will continue to suffer and risk their life on these treacherous roads. The safety of the road users have been compromised because there are so many road accidents occurring now and then.

The people in Sabah and Sarawak are not demanding the same high standard like those roads in the West Malaysia because we know we will be penalized by paying high toll money to the BN cronies like what the West Malaysian are paying. We merely asked for a standard road with level surface without potholes and bumps, and with enough road lights and road signs, is this something too to ask for? BN cannot deliver but choose to tell us and bully us by telling us that it is very expensive to build us the R5 standard dual carriageway. Hiew said Sabahan will not be threatened by this type of irresponsible talk from the Works Minister. If they cannot do it, it is better for them to hand over the job and let Pakatan Rakyat to carry out.

亚庇国会议员邱庆洲说,这是不合理的,也反映出国阵政府不能有效的执行他们的职责,为人民带来更好的道路和基本设施,特别是支持他们一票的选民。国阵政府用越来越多种种的藉口来覆盖他们无法提供或无法做到的事情。 需要耗费马币三千至四千万来兴建的双车道是不可置信的笑话,任何的马路承包商(不包括国阵的承包商或亲信)都会告诉大家,该数字的确是“天价”,是没有人会相信的。 因为他说,沙巴州内的1200公里主干公路,从现有的R3标准(单车道)提升至R5标准(双车道)将需要马币七十亿,那就是每公里仅需要马币五百八十三万。 现在他却说每公里的建设成本是马币三千至四千万,又如何解释?

总之,在沙巴大部分横贯婆罗洲的泛婆大道是处于非常糟糕的状况,尤其是在连接从都鲁必到山打根,拉卜路32里的检查站到拿笃,斗湖到加拉巴干,加拉巴干到沙必律。从亚庇到实必丹的马路早已应该提升到R5标准的双车道公路,但直到今天也没有看到有任何计划和展开工作的迹象。 有一点可以肯定的是,人民将继续受苦,他们经常必须冒险行驶在该些恶劣的道路上。 道路使用者的安全已受到深深的影响。 在这些不合规格的马路上经常有许多的道路交通事故发生。

沙巴和砂捞越州的人不要求有像在西马的高水平道路,因为我们知道我们将受到惩罚如西马的人需要支付昂贵的过路费。我们只是要求我们的路没有坑洼和凹凸不平的路面,并有足够的路灯照明和安全路标,这是项过分的要求吗? 国阵选择推搪和欺负我们,并告诉我们若要兴建好的道路是非常昂贵的,尤其是要建设R5标准的双车道。 邱氏说,这位副部长的说话是不负责任的,沙巴人是不会受到威胁。如果国阵做不到,最好是把他们开除,让民联来做。
