Why replace good walkway //

The walkway slab next to the Damai Road at the Dewan Damai is being reconstructed with a new layer of walkway concrete slab in red color.

The DAP Andrew Lee Chee Kiong and Robert Rajah upon receiving complaints from the people in the area went for an inspection found out that the work is going on to replace the unbroken walkway pavement concrete blocks with red color concrete slab. The original pavement blocks were not broken but overgrown with some grass, and they don’t see why this has to be replaced. The walkway is not frequently used by the pedestrians.

The barricade fences along the road are being knocked over and twisted, and yet received no repair to put them right. Instead, the DBKK is now digging up all the good pavement blocks to cast a concrete pavement over it. Where is the logic in doing this work? Many people had queried why DBKK is spending money to do this job, or is it because of creating “project”?

There are many other areas needed repair and upgrading, for example drains, 5-kaki in front of shops, and broken back lanes, the DBKK should spend the money to upgrade all these instead to redo a good unbroken walkway.
